K’oyitl’ots’ina’s Shareholders
In recognizing and understanding the importance of education and the positive impact to society and shareholders, the K’oyitl’ots’ina Settlement Trust offers scholarships for full-time and part-time students. Furthermore, the elders of the Koyukuk River always stress the importance of getting an education.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Be a K’oyitl’ots’ina Settlement Trust unit holder.

Be accepted to an accredited college, university, technical, or vocational school.

Maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher (first time students are exempt.)

First time students must provide letter of acceptance instead of transcripts.
Full-Time Students
Full-Time students are eligible to receive $1,000 per semester, fall and spring.
To be considered a full-time student:

Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits.

Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credits or be recognized as full-time by graduate school program. Graduate students are those enrolled in any degree program upon completion of their bachelor’s degree.

Vocational students must be enrolled in a minimum of fifteen (15) hours per week from an accredited institution.
Part-Time Students
Part-Time students are eligible to receive $500 per semester, fall and spring.
To be considered a part-time student:

Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits.

Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of five (5) credits. Graduate students are those enrolled in any degree program upon completion of their bachelor’s degree.

Vocational students must be enrolled in a minimum of five (5) hours per week from an accredited institution.
Part-time students may receive scholarships for a maximum of seven (7) years or fourteen (14) semesters.
DEADLINES
July 15 – Deadline to apply.
August 5 – Transcripts due from previous spring semester.
January 5 – Transcripts due from previous fall semester.
December 5 – Deadline to apply for students starting school in the spring semester.
K’oyitl’ots’ina Settlement Trust does not provide a summer scholarship.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must submit:

Complete scholarship application, available at www.kcorpalaska.com.

Proof of academic enrollment (i.e., copy of letter of acceptance for students new to higher education, or class schedule for academic year for returning students) from the school he/she will be attending.

Transcripts from the last school attended.
DISTRIBUTION
Scholarship checks will be mailed directly to scholarship recipient upon verified attendance of fall or spring semester.
